"El Carnaval" aborda un extraño asesinato bajo el que se oculta una trama donde se mezclan la ambición y la pasión amorosa, elemento común al resto de la serie.
En "El charco de sangre", un crimen que comienza sin que aparezca el cuerpo del delito, la solución del caso se oculta alrededor del prostíbulo de Andrés el Ciego. Francisco García Pavón utiliza el género policíaco para dibujar un mundo rural plagado de sentido del humor, en el que su detective sobrevive gracias al sentido común y los pálpitos que le permiten desenredar las complejas marañas tras las que se camufla el criminal.
